About Dawson
Dawson Robert (She/Her) is an activist for love and light in the world. Her passion is to create spaces for anyone and everyone to feel seen, heard, and loved. Her dream is to help create a world that works for all humans; based in authenticity, radical acceptance and compassion, informed consent, equality, and personal empowerment. She has been making that dream a reality through teaching, event organizing, and community stewardship for the past five years.
She is committed to social justice education that is trauma informed, inclusive, and geared towards cis allies, co-workers, friends, and family members. Her life experiences and the identities she holds; trans-woman, childhood abuse survivor, white, able-bodied, and nuerodiverse informs her work. She is dedicated to the process of unlearning how oppressor identities affect her lens and approach to this work. Facilitator trainings offered by New Culture organizers as well as The Transgender Training Institute have given her the tools to teach others.
She has worked with various cis-majority groups over the years to create more gender informed spaces that are safer and more comfortable for trans and non-binary folks to exist in. She has accomplished this through teaching workshops, individual coaching, facilitating embodied Gender Experiences, and co-developing systems to relieve the burden of education from those that hold any marginalized identities. This work has been most prominent in her role as a main organizer with Center For A New Culture.
She is especially dedicated to bridging the gap between cis and trans identity experiences through heart-centered, relationship based teaching and counseling.
What Is Coaching?
From pronouns to bathrooms to transitions; and everything beyond and in between there is a lot to learn about the transgender people in your life. It can be a lot to learn on your own. Even if you know all of the language and technical information, trans people are so much more than just words on a page or a video online. They are full beings with experiences and emotions that it might be difficult for you to understand or relate to.
But we know that learning and broadening one’s understanding and acceptance happens best when we are taught in a gentle and compassionate way by someone close to us. At the same time it is an act of labor that many trans people find themselves engaged in so much that the very act of doing so creates distance in their connection with the person trying to learn. So instead of learning from the trans folks in your life you can learn with me.
Who is Coaching For?
Whether you need patient explanations to your more technical questions or loving guidance to genuinely understand and relate to the transgender people in your life; I’m here to help. Together we will create a space of closeness and acceptance where you will be free to fully feel, share, question, learn and grow. Sadness, discomfort, shame, and fear are all normal emotions to experience in this process and we can make a space for them.
Through our time together we can begin the process of unlearning social messages and ideas you have integrated from a lifetime of living in a gendered, cis-dominated world.
Build a More Inclusive World
Create an Accepting Culture in Your Space. Bring a Transgender 101 Class to You!
More than just term definitions or a simple Q&A; Transgender 101 classes are adaptable and audience specific, built on a foundation of compassion and care, and oriented towards inclusion and respect for everyone. By both speaking from her own experience as a white, transfemme person; as well as weaving in voices different from her own, Dawson creates an introductory course on transgender issues that is couched in intersectionality.
Based on foundational teachings from The Transgender Training Institute and The Teaching Transgender Toolkit by Dr. Eli Green and Luca Miller. Trans Formation can be booked for Transgender 101 level courses in both community and professional settings. Whether you need a class for your workplace, event, or community; Trans Formation can help you create a safer, more accepting space for transgender and gender diverse folks.
Participants of Transgender 101 classes will come away with a deeper understanding of how to relate to, hold space for, and peacefully co-exist with the transgender and gender diverse people they encounter every day.
Understand key concepts and terms.
Gain the skills to apologize gracefully and effectively.
Learn how to speak and act in respectful, affirming ways.

Dawson was instrumental in helping me understand the mores of modern trans culture. In addition to being competent in many important skills, she is very articulate and caring as well as patient. I consider the time we have spent together invaluable, and hope she continues to thrive and help others to grow and integrate what they have learned.
